Abbey Slashes Rates Again

August 20th, 2008 by Guy

From tomorrow, Abbey is lowering the interest rate on its two and three year fixed rate mortgages by up to 0.25% per cent.

As a result, two year fixed mortgage deals now start at 5.79% at 70% LTV, while three year fixed mortgages start at 5.99%. In addition, all Abbey’s flexible offset mortgages are reducing by 0.2%, so they now start from 6.23% with a £1,499 fee.

Three-year tracker rate mortgage products are cut by 0.1% at 75% LTV, now starting from 5.79% per cent, with a fee of £1,950.

Phil Cliff, Abbey’s director of mortgages, commented: “These reductions demonstrate our continued effort to offer customers an excellent deal, in particular our flexible offset mortgages, which now start at 6.23%, look very competitive.”
